COVID-19 Update: West Jefferson Youth, Inc.

Because of the evolving governing the corona-virus pandemic, the impact of school closures, the earlier rulings as we watched our Country and State Leaders make decisions, most of us never seen before, West Jefferson Youth cancelled Indoor Soccer, and suspended organisation activities effective Friday March 13th.

Spring soccer for this year is cancelled, we are not contracted with any league and quite a few soccer players, participate with baseball, therefore of a significant overlap, spring soccer had to be cancelled. Refunds will be dealt with after our April 5th monthly meeting.

Baseball and Lacrosse we are contracted through league requirements of which have been advised their governing boards indicate at this time everything looks good to resume activities around April 7th. However the West Jefferson Youth executive board will meet electronically on Sunday April 5th at 6pm to review where we are, and review decisions of the State of Ohio is with this horrible pandemic and update everyone at this time officially.

This temporary closure, as well as the cancellation of any of our events, will have very real financial consequences for organizations like the West Jefferson Youth that rely solely on the support of members, program participants, sponsors and donors. As a nonprofit, charitable organization, we ask for your patience and your continued support during this time.

We know many of you will be impacted by the hardships this virus will cause. Households across our community are suffering and we as an organization are in it together.

The corona virus has created enormous uncertainty; however, how we manage it is in our control. Join in creating a history that demonstrates how our community came together and served those who needed assistance the most.

As new information of any additional delays, cancellations or decisions from either the Lacrosse or Baseball Leagues or the West Jefferson Youth will be notified on our website or emailed.
